Sr Database Administrator

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in database management and administration.
  • Proficiency in one or more relational database management systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) is required.
  • Strong SQL query writing and optimization skills.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates and backups.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including access control, authentication, and encryption.
  • Have better Knowledge in Query Optimization and Query Tuning
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Plan and implement strategies for scaling databases as data volume and traffic grow.
  • Evaluate and implement sharding, partitioning, or other scalability techniques when necessary.
  • Deploy and configure monitoring tools to track database performance and security.
  • Set up alerting systems for proactive issue resolution.
  • Knowledge of data security best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with scripting and automation for database tasks.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and management tools for DBMS.
